With the participation of 167 papers from more than 60 universities and scientific institutions from around the world, the Islamic University organized the Sixth Iraqi International Conference for Engineering Technology and its Applications. The conference was held in partnership and cooperation with the IEEE, one of the largest scientific institutions in the world. It is an important step that represents the strategic partnership relationship between the Islamic University and the reputable international institutions, in order to serve Iraq in all fields, including the purely scientific fields. The conference aims also to boost the scientific standing of Iraqi universities and their position as leaders in advanced technological fields at the national, regional, and international levels.

The two-day conference started with verses from the Holy Quran and a reading of Surah Al-Fatiha for the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the Iraqi Republican anthem.

This was followed by the speech of the President of the Islamic University, in which he thanked the institution participating in this conference, which is a pride not only for the university, but also for all Iraqi universities for serving our dear country in this vital scientific field. Then Dr. Al-Salami expressed the Islamic University’s full support for hosting these conferences with the participation of scientific elites from different countries of the world, which is an indication of the scientific development witnessed by the Islamic University, in an effort to bring Iraq to the ranks of developed countries. Then Dr. Al-Salami emphasized how important and necessary it is to not neglect this research, but to use it on the ground.

At the conclusion of his speech, the President of the University extended his deep thanks to the International Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Preparatory and Scientific Committee for the conference, the researchers and the participants.

Then, the Director of the International Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) branch in Iraq, Prof. Sattar Badr Khan, gave a speech, at the beginning of which he referred to the history of the institution and the nucleus of its establishment decades ago in the United States of America, and then to the importance of holding such conferences, expressing his appreciation for the university Islamic organization for this conference.

Then the researchers began to discuss their research.

Researchers expressed their appreciation for the conference’s reliance on research based on scientific standards and criteria for the research presented. Additionally, they commended the university’s aspiration for international participation and maximized investment in conference research, as well as provided an opportunity to highlight the university’s technical innovations and its research that will benefit science and humanity.
