Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University of Najaf, met with Dr. Abbas Al-Emami, a representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Al-Ilahiyyat University, on Sunday morning, May 22nd, to discuss ways of joint scientific cooperation and to prepare a memorandum of friendship and understanding in this regard in the service of the Islamic community in the two Muslim countries and other Islamic countries.
Dr. Al-Salami expressed his pleasure with the visit and his full support for expanding all fields of cooperation between the two universities at the beginning of the meeting.
Dr. Al-Emami, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received from the founder of the Islamic University, His Eminence, Sayyid Sadr Al-Din Al-Qabbanji, who encouraged Dr. Al-Emami to meet with the President of the Islamic University, Dr. Al-Salami, to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation to serve our religion and our Islamic society.
El-Emami reported that “Dr. Al-Salami, President of Islamic University, held a direct telephone meeting with Sheikh Atef Ismail Ov, Consultation board member, in order to explore the possibility of joint scientific cooperation between the universities. Dr. Al-Salami then invited the Theological University to receive a delegation to discuss co-operation between the universities.”
Dr. Al-Salami took his guest on a tour of the university’s corridors to show him landmarks in the urban area and to meet with the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Dr. Hadi Al-Tamimi, who explained the mechanism of joint scientific cooperation.
