At the fourth edition of the cultural week activities held annually by the Islamic University of Najaf, the artist Sera Tawfiq, from Karbala, displayed her skill in the “String art”. String art is one of the arts that emerged during the Ottoman era and is considered one of the branches of painting, in which threads and nails are used instead of pens and papers. The nails are attached to a piece of wood and then the wires are interwoven with nails to produce the required paint. It is considered a difficult art because it requires accuracy in fixing the nails to the required location.
