In pursuit of its worthy goals by spreading the culture and language of the Qur’an in all societies, especially non-speaking countries, the Islamic University of Najaf held the first session of joint workshops between the Islamic University and Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, to master the language of the Qur’an “the Arabic language” for the professors of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her), which the university will host over a period of two weeks, within the protocol of joint cooperation between the two universities.
The President of the Islamic University, Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, attended the opening session and addressed the delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and encouraging them to invest their time in learning Arabic because it is the language of the Glorious Qur’an and promoting the knowledge and culture of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Dr. Hakim Al-Kuraiti, the head of the university’s Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies Department, then chaired the discussion session, which focused on the history of the Arabic language and the difference between languages and dialects, and why God chose the Arabic language to be in the Qur’an.
Dr. Mohsen Al-Mudhaffar, the scientific assistant at the university, Dr. Hassan Melhem, the administrative assistant, Dr. Hakim Al-Karaiti, the head of the Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies Department, and the director of public relations, Dr. Zaid Al-Akaishi attended the first session. Dr. Fatima Al-Salami, assistant professor of Islamic Sciences, moderated the seminar.
The guest programs also include seminars and other seminars as well as visits to Najaf’s holy shrines and historical sites.
