On the blessing of God Almighty and on the occasion of the birth of Imam, the Commander of the Faithful, Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), the Islamic University of Najaf launched on Tuesday the thirteenth of Rajab in 1433, its initiative to establish the first national competition for female students in Iraqi universities for recitation, memorization, and recitation of the Glorious Qur’an. The competition will be held on the first day of Dhu al-Qa’dah, in honor of the memory of Lady Fatima al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her) of the year 1443, corresponding to the first day of June 2022.
The university has formed a higher committee to supervise the holding of the competition, headed by the President of the Islamic University, Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, and the membership of each of the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Dr. Hadi Al-Tamimi, and the Assistant Dean Dr. Fatima Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, the director of Public Relations at the university, Dr. Zaid Al-Akaishi, and the head of the Holy Quran Division at the university, Mr. Mohsen Rasoul Al-Saffar.
The committee studied the mechanisms that would contribute to displaying the competition in the best way in line with the greatness of the Holy Book of God.
The members of the committee decided that the management, arbitration and supervision of the competition would be mediated by purely feminist cadres, and that the first three winners in the topics of memorizing the entire Qur’an, recitation and intonation would nominate to participate in the international competition for university students in Iraq and Iran, which will be held in Tehran on the occasion of the birth of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) on the eleventh of the month of Dhul-Qa’dah 1443, the eleventh of June 2022.
