In honour of the anniversary of the birth of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), and in the presence of the founder of the Islamic University, His Eminence Sayyid Sadr Al-Din Al-Qabbanji (God save him), the Religious and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Husseini Youth Authority at the university, held on Monday an honorary celebration in the conference hall for the female students who wear Al-abaya Zainabiya on the university campus. Many female students participated in this event, who were given religious veils as an honor.
The celebration began with a welcome speech from Hasna Al-Qabbanji, the director of the Religious and Educational Guidance Unit, followed by a statement from the students, presented on their behalf by Salwa Al-Sharifi, and responses from Sayyed Al-Qabbanji about the philosophy of the veil in Islam. The ceremony concluded with the students travelling to Karbala to participate in the rituals of visiting Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
