Several faculty members participated at the first international conference that was held at the shrine of the sun scene in Babylon, including Professor Hadi Abd al-Nabi al-Tamimi, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Professor Hakim Habib al-Kuraiti, Head of the Department of Qur’anic and Linguistic Studies, and Assistant Professor Fatima al-Salami, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.
The conference was held on the occasion of the birth of Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), and under the slogan “Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, the secret of creation and the voice of truth” for the period (20–21) Jumada al-Akhirah 1443, and the number of papers participating in the conference from inside and outside Iraq was more than 100. 80 of them were accepted research after being scrutinised by the scientific committees in the conference, and then 15 of them were selected and considered the best research.
Then the winners of the selected research were announced and the researchers honored.
While Dr. Fatima Al-Salami, an assistant professor, placed seventh with her research, Prof. Hakim Al-took Kuraiti’s second place.
The conference’s inaugural session concluded with Prof. Hadi Abdul Nabi Al-Tamimi, dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, receiving the conference prize in recognition of his work on the book Rerise of the Sun to the Commander of the Faithful Ali bin Abi Talib, peace be upon him, in Babylon/Al-Manqaba and Al-Mashhad-a Study in History and Architecture.
