In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
And if you are killed in the cause of Allah or die – then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than whatever they accumulate [in this world]. And whether you die or are killed, unto Allah you will be gathered. (surah Āl-‘Imrān: 157-158)
In the strongest terms, the Islamic University of Najaf condemns the targeting of one of the headquarters of our valiant army by ISIS terrorist groups in Al-Azim District, north of Diyala Governorate, which led to the martyrdom of a number of our brave soldiers.
On this painful occasion, the Islamic University extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the martyrs with his great mercy, and to inspire everyone with patience and solace.
“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 156)
