Within the objectives of IU in community service, students from the Faculty of Medical Technologies volunteer to provide free medical and treatment services
Doctors and students from the Faculty of Medical Technology have volunteered to provide free medical services from various pathological tests and different treatment services to the residents of the village of Al-Noor in the Abbasid district of the Al-Najaf Governorate as part of the goals of the Islamic University since its founding in community service.
In an interview with University Media, the Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies said the campaign’s goal is “to carry out a health campaign in the Al-Noor village of Al-Abbasiya sub-district, provide treatment services and conduct some different analyses for the residents of remote villages; diagnose some diseases by the specialised doctors who accompanied the campaign; and refer patients to the popular clinic in Kufa for the purpose of making records of chronic diseases such as diabetes and pressure; some patients were referred to the Dermatology and Laser Division at the College of Medicine at the University of Kufa for their treatment.”
In addition, Dr. Al-Kinani noted that workers at the Al-Noor Health Center vaccinated a large number of people with the COVID vaccine after it was discovered that most clients of the clinic hadn’t received vaccinations because they had not consulted the health authorities.
Dr. Al-Kinani extended his gratitude and admiration to all those involved in this humanitarian and community activity, particularly the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kufa, the Al-Abbasiya Health District in the Najaf Governorate, and the Medical Laboratory Techniques Department instructors who organized this campaign. In addition, he thanked the teachers of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies who planned this campaign under the direct supervision of the College of Medical Technology Dean and the Associate Dean, as well as the blessing of the President of the Islamic University, of the Islamic University, Dr. Ammar Al-Salami with the blessing of Sayyed Sadr Al-Din Al-Qabbanji.
