Dr. Imad Odeh Al-Amiri, a representative of the Ministry of Higher Education, praised the Islamic University for organizing the Middle Euphrates Universities Championship opening ceremony, describing it “more than fantastic and captivating.”
Dr. Al-Amiri, the ministry’s representative and supervisor of the competition, revealed in a statement to (University Media) that “the number of universities participating in the championship amounted to 14 teams from the universities of the Middle Euphrates governorates.” He also said that “the ministry aspires to improve and encourage students’ sports skills and encourage them to participate in all activities in a spirit of high athletic.
“The championship aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship, love, and cooperation between the participating universities as well as the students to develop their physical abilities,” said Dr. Jabbar Rahima, head of the Department of Education and Sports Sciences at the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University and supervisor of the opening carnival.
Dr. Rahima continued, “The celebration included a number of events, and the presence of university presidents reflects their interest in the tournament, which will have a significant impact on achieving the best desired results from its establishment,” while wishing that “the tournament will have the same flavour as the wonderful opening carnival that the sports hall witnessed.” closed at the university.
