The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies held a panel discussion entitled: Gene therapy, for the lecturer, Mrs. Istabraq Hassan, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the college hall.
During the seminar, , the technique through which healthy genes are inserted into cells to correct the work of inactive genes was discussed.
The most important diseases treated by this technique were also discussed, in addition to other diseases that failed to treat, as it is one of the most important and most recent techniques of genetic modification used recently that could change the history of medicine in the coming years.
Then the lecture discussed its components, work steps, the most important achievements and research papers related to technology, and clarified the most important problems facing the application of this technology. (HTH)
