Dr. Ammar Abdul-Amir Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University of Najaf, met with Mr. Mr. Zuhair Ali Al-Shaalan, Governor of Al-Diwaniyah, on Monday, 6/7/2021, to talk about the development of higher education and scientific research in the governorate and open up prospects for cooperation with the local government, in the presence of the President of the Islamic University of Al-Diwaniyah Branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Musawi.
Al-Shaalan said: “Scientific research is an essential pillar of the university, which competes with its peers in the classifications responsible for evaluating the quality of educational services.”
Al-Shaalan expressed his hope to “overcome the repercussions of the current health crisis and return to the attendance and integrated work at the level of graduate and primary studies,” calling on “teachers, staff and students to take vaccinations, complete vaccinations, contribute to preserving the health of society, and proceed to complete the requirements of the current school year and prepare for the next school year.”
Shaalan directed the concerned departments and the governorate property department to acquire land for the expansion of the Islamic University and the opening of new colleges within the governorate’s urban planning. (HTH)
