The Islamic University College in brief

The Islamic University College is a private Iraqi College recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and under its full supervision administratively and scientifically.

This scientific institution was established in 2004 by His Eminency Sadiruldeen Al- Gubanchi, one of the eminent Islamic Thinkers. It is located in the city centre of Najaf. It has retrieved its philosophy and policy from the ethos, history and cosmopolitan culture of Najaf city. Over its short history, the college has crossed several milestones in pursuit of academic excellence and has emerged as a leading scientific figure in the field of higher education. It is a multi-faculty institution that reflects the national agenda for higher education in Iraq.

The college offers a wide variety of courses consistent with the requirements of time through several departments. They are:

Law

Political and International Sciences

The Quranic and Linguistic Studies

Islamic Doctrine

Media

Technology of Computer Engineering

Technology of Air Conditioning Engineering

The excellent reputation of the college has attracted students from all over Iraq. The total number of the students reached (7000) students.

The college provides first class facilities like sports, indoor and outdoor games, library, internet …. etc.

The college awards Bachelor degrees in its various departments.

The Foundation of the Islamic University

for Science and Knowledge

          The foundation was established in 2003. It is recorded as a non-governmental foundation by the General Secretariat of the Iraq Cabinet. Owing to its excellent activities, the foundation got a letter of thanks from the non-governmental Assistance office attached to the Iraqi Cabinet.

        The foundation of the Islamic University is a cultural and scientific foundation. It has its own moral character. The representative and the speaker of the foundation is the Islamic Thinker Sadruldeen Al- Gubanchi. It is located in the holy city of Najaf. It has branches in some of the Iraqi provinces.

        The foundation plans to have branches in several countries. The administrative council of the foundation consists of the following academic characters:

1. His Eminency Sadruldeen Al- Gubanchi: the Secretary General.
2. Dr. Ammar Al- Salami: Vice Secretary General
3. Dr. Ali Athum Al- Kurdi
4. Dr. Hadi Abdul Nabi Al- Tememi
5. Dr. Abid Ali Hassan Naoor

The Foundation aims at:

1.   The spread of knowledge in the different cultural and scientific fields.

2. Catering for spreading the Islamic thought.

3. Participating in the progress of society both scientifically and culturally.

In order to achieve the aims mentioned above, the foundation decided to establish Islamic Universities and institutions. The establishment of the Islamic university college is one of the fruits of the effortsof the foundation in this field. The college is recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is also intended to develop this college into a university in the near future.
