Islamic University development strategy evolved out of its founding principles, as the university relied on international networks from the very beginning. In 2007 and again in 2012, the university won the status of a University of Excellence in the Iraq government’s Excellence Initiative. The university also shows great promise in the Excellence Strategy, the successor to the Initiative
